Polar Bear Adventure

Trip Details

Our Polar Adventure Tour is designed for those who wish to visit Churchill to not only see the magnificent Lord of the Arctic, Manitoba's polar bears, but also to experience the history and culture of the region. Led by very knowledgeable guides, Enthusiast program itineraries include activities other than bear watching, such as a town and area tour, entrance to the Eskimo Museum and Parks Canada facility and a private slide presentation. Either dog sledding or a cultural-arts program is included.

The Lodge-based programs include one-night hotel accommodation in Churchill, which allows time to take part in additional activities. Another exciting component for some of the Polar Adventure Tours is the choice of transportation: although the majority of programs include round trip air from Winnipeg, guests can choose to travel one-way by VIA Rail. Enthusiast programs include the largest selection of available activities and are the best way to experience the wildlife as well as the 'wild' life in Churchill!

Day 1: Arrive Winnipeg. Overnight airport hotel.

Day 2: Early morning flight to Churchill. Depart for town and area tour, and visit to Eskimo Museum. Evening visit to Parks Canada Interpretive Center. Overnight Churchill hotel.

Day 3: Free time to explore Churchill at your leisure. Afternoon dog sled program. Transfer to Buggy Launch and begin your exciting trip to the Tundra Buggy Lodge. Enjoy a slow trek to the lodge. Providing opportunity to view, photograph, and learn about Polar Bears, other arctic wildlife and the environment. Overnight Tundra Buggy Lodge.

Day 4 & 5: Your next two days will be spent out on the tundra. After breakfast, you will head out on the Tundra Buggy, away from the lodge, searching for Polar Bears and other wildlife. Evenings will be spent enjoying delicious home cooked meals, watching video/slide presentations and socializing. Watch the night sky for Northern Lights. Overnight Tundra Buggy Lodge.

Day 6: After breakfast, the group will depart the lodge, participating on the last Tundra Buggy expedition, meandering slowly along the way. Upon arrival at launch, you will be transferred directly to the airport. Evening flight back to Winnipeg. Overnight airport hotel.

Day 7: Depart Winnipeg at Leisure.
