At the end of your tour you can depart on your way back home from Fairbanks. You other option is to rail back to Anchorage on board the Alaska Railroad.

This morning, you will transfer from your hotel to the Fairbanks rail station for your departure at 8:15 am for a very scenic full-day rail tour to Anchorage. All seats within the comfortable train compartments are pre-reserved and the Alaska Railroad staff takes care of your entire luggage. Sit back and Enjoy the ride ! You'll get fantastic and breathtaking views of the snow covered Alaska Mountain Range with it's towering 20,320 feet high Mt. McKinley. There may be some stopovers along the way before arriving in Anchorage in the evening around 7:45 pm. Upon your arrival at the Anchorage train depot there will be taxis parked by the curb for your hotel transfer. Please note that there is no dome car in the winter train. Food is available for purchase on board the train.

CANCELLATION POLICY
A MasterCard or Visa is required to make your reservation online. Your card will be charged when you book your trip. We require at least 90 days notice for cancellations otherwise a cancellation fee of 50% may be charged. No-shows or cancellations with less than 72 hours notice will not be eligible for a refund.
Late arrivals that miss the departure will be considered a No-Show.

CARRY-ONS
The Alaska Railroad offers checked baggage service. For your safety and the safety of others, only one carry-on is allowed per person. Carry-on bags may not exceed 15” x 14” x 6”. Please remember to carry on medications, cameras or other items that you will need during your train ride.

CHECKED LUGGAGE
Each ticketed passenger may check two (2) pieces of luggage (Winter Aurora Train four (4) pieces of luggage). The luggage weight limit is 50 pounds per bag. The baggage fee for bikes, excess, oversized, and overweight bags is $20.00 per item.

WINTER TRAIN ON-BOARD DINNING
The Aurora Winter Train is cashless for onboard purchases. For your convenience, The Alaska Railroad accepts credit cards only for any onboard purchases. We accept all major credit cards including debit and pre-paid cards that can be run as a credit. Breakfast is served onboard until 10:30am and lunch and dinner items are served from 11am. For breakfast, choose from light selections such as cereal, fresh fruit, and parfait or enjoy a complete hot meal like our Country Starter with biscuits & gravy, eggs, and reindeer sausage or smoked bacon.
