CHURCHILL POLAR BEAR ADVENTURE TOUR

6-Day Churchill Polar Bear Adventure in Canada

Trip Highlights

  • More time spent in the prime polar bear viewing area.

  • Avoid the lights of town and experience the Northern Lights from the tundra (weather permitting)

  • Enjoy the comforts of our Lodge on the coast of Hudson Bay.

  • Learn about polar bears from leading Polar Bears International Species Experts in the field.

Our Polar Adventure Tour is designed for those who wish to visit Churchill to not only see the magnificent Lord of the Arctic, Manitoba's polar bears, but also to experience the history and culture of the region. Led by very knowledgeable guides, Enthusiast program itineraries include activities other than bear watching, such as a town and area tour, entrance to the Eskimo Museum and Parks Canada facility and a private slide presentation. Either dog sledding or a cultural-arts program is included.

The Lodge-based programs include one-night hotel accommodation in Churchill, which allows time to take part in additional activities. Another exciting component for some of the Polar Adventure Tours is the choice of transportation: although the majority of programs include round trip air from Winnipeg, guests can choose to travel one-way by VIA Rail. Enthusiast programs include the largest selection of available activities and are the best way to experience the wildlife as well as the 'wild' life in Churchill!

Daily Tundra Buggy excursions, led by a knowledgeable Interpretive Guide*, allow guests to explore the area beyond the Lodge and give plenty of photography opportunities. Evenings at the Lodge can be as memorable as the days, with a chance to get to know other guests and swap tales. Enjoy presentations from our Interpretive Guides and Polar Bears International experts, world-renowned polar bear researchers and scientists we host on our Lodge. On clear nights, the magical dance of the Northern Lights can be seen easily from the Lodge’s outdoor observation decks.

The Tundra Buggy Lodge offers a unique, immersive experience where guests can fall asleep and wake up with polar bears right outside the window. The lodge consists of two accommodation units; a lounge with public computers and Internet; and dining unit where guests can share stories and enjoy delicious home cooked meals.
